About

You may be curious as to why I titled my blog “All This Monotony.” Well, I’m becoming increasingly convinced that there is nothing new to be said. In fact, I ripped my title right out of Ecclesiastes 1:8. Solomon sarcastically, I think, bemoans the fact that nothing is new under the sun. Everything that is being done, has been done already. What will be done in the future really isn’t any different than what is happening right now.

So why am I starting a blog? I’d like to put an interesting twist on the monotony…at least one that I think is interesting! Every so often I think I have a good idea about something to write. Shortly thereafter I find out that someone has already written about it, and they’ve done a better job than I would ever be able to do. I like to think out loud, but with the realization that my thoughts are often triggered by others. Sometimes I write about topics I’ve been discussing with friends or family. Sometimes thoughts are triggered by the blogs of others.

My topics will vary and will mostly center around my faith in Jesus Christ. I’m interested in a lot of things. Some constant interests include the Bible, church, Christianity, theology, culture, photography, sports, family, technology and Christian discipleship. My interests tend to ebb and flow as I discover new things. If I find something interesting, I’ll write about it. It’ll be good for me. Hopefully it’ll be of some benefit to you as well. Please visit often and comments are definitely welcome…even if they challenge my current point of view!

  1. Hi,

Are you the Matt that was leaving comments on this website in April last year?

    http://tinyfrog.wordpress.com/2007/11/22/the-non-believers-review-of-the-case-for-faith-the-first-50-pages/

I was following that discussion and quite enjoying it actually. Did you ever continue that convo with Techskeptic / TinyFrog? I went to that link of TechSkeptic’s but it didn’t seem like a stable webpage (http://www.findingcommonground.info/)

    Cheers,
    Ryan

    • Ryan, I was enjoying the discussion too. Sadly, I’ve neglected my blog for quite some time…no coincidence since the birth of our 2nd child. :) Maybe someday I’ll get back at it…
